Q: I can't find the standards download page, can you help?

A: You can find a list of the available state standards by clicking this link.
Go to the Standards Page.

Q: How do I get my standards into my software?

A: First download the state you need from The Standards Download Page at this website, make sure to choose from your correct operating system list. The file should end up on your desk top, unless you change the destination.

Next Simply locate the file and double click it. On Windows, the file automatically unpacks in your New Measure folder in a sub-folder called Standards (the actual path is "C:\Program Files\New Measure\Standards"). On Macintosh the file unpacks to your desktop unless you change the destination.

Finally, open your New Measure program and go to the option for "List all Standards" located under the "Standards" option in the menu bar, click on the Import button, and in the location popup box navigate to and double-click your file ("ST.TXT", where ST = your states abbreviation).

Q: What is a rubric?

A: A rubric is a tool for showing and assessing "the things that count" in several areas of the learning process usually based on a build up scale where the higher the number the more proficient the level. For example one Element of a "3 Level Rubric" on Typing might be "Skill and Mastery". "The things that count" might be:

Level 3: Can type 65 wpm or more without looking at the keys with little or no errors.

Level 2: Can type 45 wpm with several errors or needs to glance at the keys.

Level 1: Has trouble typing without looking at the keys rhythm fluctuates, types less than 30 wpm.
